Our client is a worldwide well-known and highly respected brand in the electronics industry. With expansion to their business, we have now an opportunity for an experienced Field Test Reporter to join the team. The main actions of this position is to perform quality assurance testing of mobile devices such as smartphones/tablets/wearables and accessories, from software / hardware aspects and interoperability with cellular operator network to assess the conformance to standards / regulations and carrier requirements and the suitability for market use.
The Role:
- Execute testing of mobile devices (smartphone/ tablet/ wearable/ IoT etc) following the guided test plans and requirements
- Exploratory testing beyond pre-defined test cases and find ways to contribute in improving existing test methods and processes
- Document/ analyse symptoms of issues and observations, comparative / benchmark testing when required, assess regulatory (safety) or customization requirements
- Report issues and findings during testing, assist R&D team with logs / information / fix verification and follow ups to achieve timely resolution
- Report the test results to meet the expected completion dates to align with team / company milestones
- Provide technical support to internal / external team members on device setup / preparation for various sales/ marketing/ engineering purposes
- Contribute in test automation by executing scripts, suggest ideas in what more can be automated / improved, maintain code base and write test scripts
About You:
- Tertiary education in Electrical/Telecommunication engineering or Computer science degree
- 1 or more years of experience in mobile device testing
- Test automation experience preferred but not essential
- Experience in testing from carrier network (eg. Telstra) is highly regarded
- Understanding of wireless technology (LTE/ NR) with respect to 3GPP protocol standards or equivalent knowledge
- Scripting ability in Python or Excel VBA preferred and advantageous although not mandatory
- Demonstrated data and process oriented approach
- Great attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure abd to meet deadlines
- Analytical and problem solving skills with ability to break comples problems into manageable pieces
